Hello! My name is Rachel Gerencser. I am a recent graduate from Fanshawe College with an Advanced Diploma in Computer Programming and Analysis.

During my time at Fanshawe, I completed three co-op work terms, giving me a full year of real-world experience. I chose to attend Fanshawe because of this fantastic co-op program. I gained valuable experience in Web Development, Android Development, and Data Analytics.

Before Fanshawe, I enjoyed a career as a Purchasing Agent and Inventory Manager for 5 years.  I made the decision to change career trajectories and follow my dreams of studying computer programming.

I am now looking forward to implementing everything I’ve learned, furthering my education, and taking the next step in my career.

Hobbies & Interests

Volleyball: My favourite way to spend my free time is probably playing volleyball. I’ve played in many leagues, tournaments, and drop-ins over the years, and I also love playing beach volleyball in the summer.
Softball: I took up softball a couple of years ago and it quickly became one of my favourite activities in the summer.
Video Games: I am an avid gamer, with a particular interest in puzzle-solving games and games. I appreciate a game with strategic thinking and problem-solving aspects of gaming, and I love the satisfaction of solving a difficult puzzle.
Cooking: I really enjoy cooking, with experimenting and discovering new recipes being my favourite aspect.
Squash: After working with Squash data for my final co-op term, I decided to try it out myself. I really enjoy the competition and it’s a great way to stay active in the winter.
Hiking: I love being outside in the summer. I often find new hiking destinations in Southern Ontario and stop in at the local businesses and craft breweries while I’m in the area.
